U-Pick pumpkin patches offer fall fun for the whole family
ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (October 20, 2020) – ‘Tis the season for hayrides, farm mazes, and pick-your-own pumpkins for family fun! U-pick farms and pumpkin patches across Orange County, N.Y. offer all of these, and so much more. Explore the Hudson Valley region’s vibrant fall foliage, savor sweet treats from local markets, and enjoy family fun for all ages. With activities for families, kids, and adults, a day on the farm may include animal experiences, outdoor games, and locally-grown food and drinks.
“Feel the crisp autumn air as you enjoy a day on the farm, picking the plumpest pumpkins. Kids can enjoy the many outdoor activities like corn mazes and hayrides while you discover one-of-a-kind fall-themed home decor items in markets. Don’t forget to treat the whole family to one (or a few) cider donuts before the day is done!” said Orange County Tourism Director Amanda Dana. “Is it a craft beverage you seek? Try one of the county’s many cideries, breweries, wineries, and distilleries — all while taking in the beautiful hues of gold, red, and orange foliage the region is known for!”

Apple Dave’s Orchard, 82 Four Corners Road, Warwick: This popular fall Warwick hot-spot offers a pick-your-own pumpkin patch on weekends through late October. Enjoy spectacular mountain views, trails, patios, and picnic areas, too. Take a stroll around the lake on Apple Dave’s Walking Trail. Apple Dave’s farm store, kitchen, local ice cream, and barbecue offers great treats and eats. The adults are welcome to sample the latest creations from Apple Dave’s distillery. Manza Family Farm, 730 State Route 211, Montgomery: Plenty of pickable pumpkins grown on-site! Autumn abounds at Manza Family Farm during its Fall Festival weekends. With more than twenty acres of farmland to explore, visitors are invited to enjoy a tractor-drawn hayride, find their way through the straw maze, visit with some farm animal friends, and more. Soons Orchard, 23 Soons Circle, New Hampton: Enjoy a wagon ride to Soons’ pumpkin fields for a memorable U-pick experience! Have hungry mouths to feed? Before the day is through, stop by Soons’ Store or Scotty’s Country Kitchen for apple cider and other sweet treats. Wright Family Farm, 329 Kings Highway, Warwick: Autumn is chock full of fun and old-fashioned harvest traditions at Wright Family Farm. A relaxing hayride delivers you at Wright’s nine-acre pumpkin patch, full of perfect pumpkins priced by the pound. Get lost – and found again – in one of two five-acre corn mazes. The paths in both mazes have been widened to allow for social distancing and to ensure your safety. For the younger crowd: Take a whirl on our pedal carts and ride the cow train. Lawrence Farms Orchards, 306 Frozen Ridge Road, Newburgh: Enjoy a tractor pulled wagon ride, plenty of pumpkins for picking, a hot apple cider, and a delicious apple cider donut at Lawrence Farms. Paid admission includes access to the miniature New England-style village with farm yard animals, and Apple Train rides during the fall harvest season. Take in the spectacular views as you relax at one of the picnic tables and savor fresh apple cider donuts, roasted nuts, paninis, and more, from the farm’s concession stand. Pierson Farm and Greenhouse, 1448 Route 211 West, Middletown: Take a trip to Pierson Farm for a fun fall day filled with pumpkin picking, corn mazes, petting zoo, and more! Kids can enjoy the farm’s spider web climb, tube glider swings, and barnyard bingo, too. Operating daily through Oct. 31.
