Orange County Tourism and Film Office launch new site with enhanced capabilities
ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (December 16, 2020) – The Orange County Office of Tourism & Film announced today the launch of a redesigned website that offers new capabilities and a more visually appealing layout. The all new orangetourism.org was created by the collaboration of a dynamic, marketing savvy tourism team and the award winning, marketing and public relations firm, Focus Media.
“We are so excited to debut our newly redesigned website. Our goals in creating the site was to attract new visitors by showcasing the natural beauty, world-class attractions, and unique venues specific to our region and to create a place where locals could find helpful resources to take advantage of the many great offerings in their own backyards,” said Orange County Tourism Coordinator Stephanie Kistner. “We believe that the final product does just that and we invite you to discover what’s happening in Orange County today!”
The new website serves as a resource for visitors and residents alike looking to explore Orange County. Visitors to the site can find listings for local restaurants, lodging, events, and more. Listings can be filtered by category, such as craft beverage locations. The website also highlights outdoor recreation and seasonal activities such as skiing, tubing, and snowboarding in the winter and boating, paddle boarding, and more in the summertime.
An events calendar offers users an easy-to-navigate way of identifying upcoming fairs, festivals, and other events across the county. And a beautifully illustrated destination map highlights major attractions, historic sites, trails, parks, and craft beverage throughout the county such as the United States Military Academy at West Point, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, Angry Orchard, the Heritage Trail, and the highly anticipated LEGOLAND® New York Resort (opening in 2021) Additional maps are available online and for PDF download.
New features of the website include “My Travel Plans,” which allows users to create their own itineraries, as well as an enhanced “Book Your Stay” capability, allowing users to book overnight accommodations at Orange County hotels, inns, and bed & breakfasts directly through the website. Familiar features include 16 themed adventures including ‘Taste the Craft!,’ a beverage tour with stops at the county’s award-winning wineries, breweries, cideries, and distilleries, and ‘Young at Heart’ with a list of venues for kids of all ages.
“From our great historic locations such as West Point, to our day-at-the farm and craft brewing experiences, to world-class shopping at Woodbury Commons and attractions like LEGOLAND® New York Resort, which will be opening to the public in 2021, there is so much to do here in Orange County,” said Steve Neuhaus, Orange County Executive. “I look forward to our new website being a tool to help people stay, play, and shop in Orange County.”
The site also includes a dedicated section for groups and guided tours available in Orange County as well as a page for weddings and celebrations with a directory for event venues.
The website allows users to explore Orange County Tourism’s fun, free, 56-page travel guide online, and is available for digital download at OrangeTourism.org/travel-guide. And, the site’s Newsroom serves as an archive for media mentions and press releases relating to both Orange County Tourism and area attractions as well as the Orange County Film Office.
