New this year: Angry Orchard in Walden Adds ‘Extra-terroirestrial Disco Party!
ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (May 31, 2022) – Main Street in Pine Bush will become the hottest spot in the galaxy when the Pine Bush UFO Fair returns on Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In its 11th year, the fair is going intergalactic, with more vendors than ever before – 120-plus and counting – offering a multiverse of memorabilia including, paintings, crystals, tchotchkes, T-shirts and foods from across to solar system at booths and stands that will spread onto side streets.
As always, visiting Earthlings and others are welcome, even encouraged, to come in costume.
“This is one of the only festivals where people join in and take part themselves,” said Domanie Ragni, Director of Community Services for the Town of Crawford, which presents the annual fair. “Everyone is welcome to join in, or just come to see those who do. But those who dress up seem to have the most fun. Families even come in group costumes!”
Why the growing interest? Maybe it has something to do with U.S. military experts’ recent testimony before Congress that UFO sightings are on the rise. (However, they now call them “unidentified aerial phenomena” to reduce the associations people have come to attach to UFOs).
“Just the fact that the government is even talking about this has put UFOs on people’s minds,” Ragni said.
Fans, believers and those just looking for a celebration like no other flock to the fair from New York’s Hudson Valley orbit and surrounding Tri-State area. Many excited visitors travel from across the country to enjoy the festivities as well.
In fact-the event went international years ago! Each year, event organizers welcome more-and-more ‘beings’ from countries throughout our world. Visitors from Norway, Great Britain, and Argentina have become regular guests. It makes sense, since this is a truly galactic experience!
“There’s no better place in the solar system to be on June 4 than at the Pine Bush UFO Fair!” said Amanda Dana, director of Orange County Tourism & Film. “The fun, fascination and entertainment send people into the stratosphere!”
This year, the good times continue when the sun makes its way to the other side of the planet. Following the daytime events, Angry Orchard will host an Extra-terroirestrial Disco at its Cider House in Walden from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The party will celebrate the release of the Orchard’s latest beverages, Extra-terroirestrial Cider and Super Natural Cider. Attendees will receive a free can of cider and can dance to funky disco sounds of DJ Sky Hook and enjoy live music from 3 p.m. to 6 pm, specialty tours, UFO trivia, food trucks and more. (Partiers at the Angry Orchard event must be at least 21 Earth years old.) Tickets for the evening event will be limited and can be purchased online for $15 per guest.
All ages are welcome to the daytime fair. All-day free entertainment includes live music and the astronomically popular game “You Bet Your Asteroid.”
For the serious side, speakers offer lectures presented by the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) in a tent at 86 Main St. Fairgoers also can take a tour of the Pine Bush UFO & Paranormal Museum & Gift Shop to learn about the sightings and phenomena that make Pine Bush a center for reported UFO activity.
Many of downtown’s always-stellar restaurants and businesses decorate and offer deals for their interstellar moment.
A highlight is the Best in Galaxy Alien Beauty Pageant, which offers a grand prize of $500. Runners-up receive souvenir prizes, and many people enter it just for the fun of it.
Have you ever dreamed of walking a pageant runway while being cheered on by a crowd? Now’s your chance! Grab some friends, or come solo. Get a costume and join us! The pictures from this event are sure to WIN the internet!
“Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder,” Dana said. “But at the Pine Bush UFO Fair, the good times are universal!”
